Muchacho opened its doors for their sneak peek week, serving Mexican street food from their bustling kitchen on Rose Street. We were lucky enough to be invited along to sample the food at their press & bloggers night, given our love of Mexican food it was yes please from both of us!
We were served nachos and a varied selection of fresh, vibrant dips (the corn dip was very moreish indeed). This was followed by a selection of small, perfectly balanced, beef, chicken or pork corn tacos. After a quick chat from Lee one of the owners, where he talked passionately about wanting to open a venue serving real Mexican street food, we were all invited to order anything we wanted from the main menu. We both opted for Burrito’s, Michelle having pork carnitas with chipotle salsa and myself the guerrero beef with “punch in the face” salsa. Vibrant, fresh, delicious food without fuss.
Their menu pretty much sums it up nicely – Mexican street food should be fresh, colourful, bold and uncomplicated! The food is prepared in the open kitchen and while you wait check out the decor – seriously colourful with a real Graffiti vibe – we loved it!
Its open 7 days a week from 10am-10pm and definitely worth a visit. If we worked locally, it would be a lunch of choice before a sandwich any day!
