If you happen to be in Inverness and looking for a tasty meal, that’s also great value for money, then look no further than The Mustard Seed Restaurant. Located on the banks of the River Ness, the upper floor windows of this colourful and cosy restaurant boast great views. On the day we visited we were looking for somewhere to have lunch, we’ve eaten here on numerous occasions before and have always enjoyed the food. We opted for their 2-course starter and main menu for £8.95, which with our bottle of wine (a luxury as we were child-free) came to under £40 for the two of us. We had two lovely starters of and chicken satay which we both enjoyed, so much so that I forgot to take photos (what kind of food blogger does that make me … a hungry one)!
I then had a main of pan fried fillet of sea trout with an oriental salad, while my husband opted for the grilled fillet of sea bass with buttered vegetables, the fish was cooked perfectly on both our dish.
We should probably have stopped there but greed got the better of us and we shared the salted caramel cheesecake – one dessert and two spoons. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit, as well as being a great chilled out venue, it is also great for family friendly dining and we plan to return with our children when we are next in the city.
